In a society where most of the credit goes to the male's role, the motive of a successful career and financial
independency pushes everybody out there to a work that gets quick results and valid
acknowledgment. Actually, the whole economic system encourages and incites
people, equally men and women, towards this achievement, and this is not necessarily a bad thing, but
here is the deal:

Happiness dilemma: a curse or a blessing?
Have you ever wondered why were you not as thrilled as
you imagined you would be once you graduated, bought the latest phone, a brand
new car, settled in a comfy house, got a better job, went on your dream
vacation…? When our hopes and desires come finally true, why aren’t we
extremely happy but rather lightly satisfied? The same goes for bad and
unfortunate events; you can be fired, lose all of your money and your
house, get sick, experience the death of a dear one… And you’ll may assume that if
such hardship occurs, you’ll be awfully miserable and sad, but the truth is,
you’ll feel down for a short period of time only to get back to your mildly dissatisfied
mode. In other words, no one is ever fully happy or fully depressed in the long
run, regardless the external circumstances. It got us thus wondering if this
broadly stable state of mind is a wicked curse or is it a liberating gift
instead!

What’s wrong with us?
We’ve been told that “What we believe in is right and
the other’s beliefs are wrong. Our religion is perfect while the other
religions are corrupted. Those are the rules and orders to follow and they are
constant and efficient in all times and all places…” pretty much all the
instructions we receive as kids are based on one fact: we are righteous thanks
to our truthful religion and the others are corrupted because of their
delusions and false beliefs. We are programmed to not question anything
because we are undeniably superior and virtuous. We grew up believing that our
powerful and enlightening religion is the key to a peaceful and prosper life,
yet as adults we get struck by the awful reality; we live in a constant fear,
corruption, injustice, violence, and virtual
disaster. Why?

The F*cked up Marriage
Here
is a plain and short scenario that you are probably acquainted with: there is a
guy, he has a job, maybe a car or a house, he is single but he’s thinking of
settling down. And there is a girl, she is pretty, obedient, knows how to cook,
maybe has a job, she is single but her surroundings think it’s time for her to
settle down. The twist here is that the guy wants someone to satisfy his sexual
needs, someone who would wash his clothes, cook and take care of
the house and his children. The girl on the other hand wants to be married for
the status itself and be normal according to the society’s standards. But who
cares about the plot, let’s just skip directly to the denouement part: Male + Female = A freaking Wedding. Yaaay
everybody’s happy.
